Precision boson-jet azimuthal decorrelation at hadron colliders

A bstract The azimuthal angular decorrelation of a vector boson and jet is sensitive to QCD radiation, can be used probe the quark-gluon plasma in heavy-ion collisions. By using recoil-free definition, sensitivity contamination from soft radiation on measurement reduced, complication non-global logarithms eliminated our theoretical calculation. Specifically we will consider $$ {p}_T^n p T n recombination scheme, as well n → ∞ limit, known winner-take-all scheme. These definitions also significantly simplify calculation for track-based measurement, which preferred due its superior resolution. We present detailed discussion factorization Soft-Collinear Effective Theory, revealing why transverse momentum {\overrightarrow{q}}_T q → more complicated than angle. show that potential glauber contributions do not spoil formalism, at least up including order {\alpha}_s^3 α s 3 . resummation carried out renormalization group, all necessary ingredients are collected or calculated. conclude with phenomenological study, finding an enhanced matching correction high p T electroweak collinear enhancement emission off di-jets. compare P ythia event generator, observable very robust hadronization underlying event.
